Skeeter SX210 The fishing report for September and October for Venice, Hopedale, and Biloxi Marsh.

This is all about fishing a transition pattern right now. The fish are on the move daily. We are catching fish in the same place for a couple of days and then you have to go looking again. Once you establish a pattern you can make milk runs on similar stuff and do really well. The fish are keying on really small pods of bait rafts.

The Mississippi River is going to rise a few feet over the next couple of weeks from all the rain up North. This will cause the river to get a little dirty and move the fish around to pockets or wedges of saltwater.

You will have to play the tides and wind to be successful right now. We really need the temperature of the water to start to drop. Right now the water is sitting at 88 to 90 degrees. If we could get down to the upper 70 to low 80s fishing would make a huge change into a catching mode.

Best lures have been large swimbaits from Yum and Bass Assassin rigged on Owner Beast Swim Bait Hooks or on Bass Assassin jig head screw lock with a 5/0 hook in 1/4 ounce.

If you are looking for topwaters look at the whopper plopper as a choice to catch both trout and reds.

Fly fishing for large bull redfish has been outstanding on natural colored flies that are slightly weighted and big poppers in baitfish colors.
