If you’ve recently purchased a new deck boat, we’re sure you’ve already started making plans to hit the nearest body of water with your new vessel. However, before you do, we recommend reading through our short article below. In it, you’ll find a list of helpful deck boat accessories that will prove to be essentials on both this trip and all the boating trips to follow!

Top

Deck boats, like many other models on the market, don’t provide any kind of shade or protection from the summer sun. While this shouldn’t be an issue for a few hours or so, if you plan on staying on your deck boat from dusk to dawn, you’ll quickly find yourself exhausted by the heat. To avoid a bad sunburn, or turning in early for the day, we recommend purchasing an attachable top or canvas to your boat to provide some much-needed shade.

Ladder

While you may not think of it much while you’re on shore, once you’re away from land and surrounded by beautiful blue water, you’re going to be very tempted to take a relaxing swim. However, without a swim ladder on hand, you’ll find that once you jump into the water it’s almost impossible to get back into your deck boat. To avoid an emergency situation, we encourage you to purchase and install a swim ladder before you leave the shore with your boat.
