Wake boats are the ideal way to enjoy a gorgeous day, allowing you to cruise at high speeds and tow watersports enthusiasts. But we here at LMC Marine Center know that the boat is only part of the equation, so we’ve put together a brief comparison between wet and dry suits so you’ll know which fits you best. To learn more, or to see the wake boats and wake boat accessories we have for sale, contact our store in Houston, Texas, today!

Wetsuits

Wetsuits, as the name suggests, are still going to allow you to get wet, but that’s intentional. They trap a small layer of water between your skin and the suit and insulate it so as your body heat warms it, it stays warm. However, you will want to wear something waterproof underneath the suit for maximum comfort. These suits are ideal for warm to moderately cold weather, but colder conditions aren’t ideal. They tend to last around five years.

Dry Suits

Once again, the name says it all. A dry suit is designed to keep the water out entirely, which will typically keep you warmer. They undergo similar treatment to car tire rubber and include foamed neoprene for extra insulation, making them the more expensive option. However, they’re designed to last up to 20 years, and the extra comfort alone might be worth it. They also retain their value well, so you can sell yours later if you no longer need it.
